Ibex Glass Studio, Wavy vases, 1990, Permanent collection, Museum of Art and Design, New York, NY

After the Ibex Glass Spring 1990 Collection launch, the wavy nesting vessel shape popped up, unattributed, in several major brand container packaging campaigns. It's hard to know if the reemergence was sincerest flattery, or just an idea mined from the same vein of gestalt forms.

1984 Ibex Glass Studio began in St. Louis Missouri as a three person partnership. The small design and manufacturing company made a big impression on the late-century American art glass market, with simple, elegantly proportioned re-interpretations of classic silhouettes, in confident, assertive colors.

"We are equal partners. Virtually all decisions of importance are made by consensus, from designing furnaces to designing bowls. We feel the products of our collaboration are bigger than the sum of our individual efforts."
