2006 - 2011  PROCESS ENGINEER / PROJECT MANAGER
STEUBEN GLASS, LLC, CORNING, NY

In response to changing trends in the luxury glass market, the oldest crystal company in America had recently undertaken the challenge of introducing an unprecedented 100 new products per year to market. For his experience designing and making studio glass, David Levi was brought into the engineering department as a problem solver to manage development of products in four hot forming operations: blowing and sculpting (hotshop), stream casting,  kiln casting ("sag"), and pressed ware.
Mr Levi's technical support leadership earned Steuben the 2010 New York State Energy Research and Development Authority (NYSERDA) Award for r
eduction in natural gas usage  in forming.
Levi helmed numerous forming process innovations, including increased scale capabilities for larger products and architectural applications with the introduction of "matchbox casting".
As a division of Corning Inc, Steuben Glass maintained a Lean DMAIC / Six Sigma process improvement environment.
